Roundtable Report

On August 1, 2003 in Washington, DC, a select group of professionals from a
variety of disciplines and institutions serving the Black community convened a historical Roundtable discussion of the African American Healthy Marriage Initiative (AAHMI). The Roundtable brought tighter twenty-five influential individuals to discuss the current culture/state of marriage in the Black ommunity and why marriage matters. Diann Dawson, Director ORO

Diann Dawson, serves as the Director, Office of Regional Operations in the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Under her guidance and leadership the AAHMI Forums have become an important foundation for sharing the message. She has championed the cause and is committed to see the AAHMI educate and communicate, enhance partnerships and identify resources to support the formation and stability of healthy marriages and improve child well-being in the African American community.
